Colloquy Setup Guide

Colloquy (Mac OS X) quick setup guide:

Download and install the latest version of Colloquy from www.colloquy.info. Step by step setup instructions for connecting to the Finale IRC channel can be found here.
  1. Launch colloquy.
  2. By default colloquy should show you the “New Connection” dialogue box [see picture], if it doesn’t open it manually via File > New Connection …
  3. Choose a nickname for yourself and add it to the “Nickname” field, then type irc.chatspike.net in the “Chat Server” field. Ensure that the “Remember this connection” checkbox is checked [see picture].
  4. Click the “Details” button and add a user name and your real name to the “Username” and “Real Name” fields [see picture]. The username field can be anything you like.
  5. Click the plus (+) button under the “Join Rooms” field and type finale in the newly created field [see picture].
  6. Ensure that you have a valid internet connection then click the “Connect” button.
  7. A new window will open, its title bar will confirm that you’re in the finale IRC chat room on the irc.chatspike.net server [see picture].
  8. To join in a conversation simply type in the text field [see picture] and then press the return key [see picture].
