FinaleIRC

I hope it goes without saying that the main topic of conversation is Finale! However, it is possible to post a message with a special “label” that works with our mailing list software in a special way, as a “topic”. It is possible for members to select which topics they want to see and which they don’t. The default behaviour when a member joins the list is for them to be able to see all topics.

Effectively then, topics create an “opt-out” system that enables members to only receive messages from the list that are of interest to them.

Usage

Add the following labels (in the format XXX:) to the suject of your email:

• WIN:
  • Issues specific to Finale for Windows
• MAC:
  • Issues specific to Finale for Macintosh
• OT:
  • “Off topic” - but still expected to be reasonably finale orientated eg: music!
• IRC:
  • About the Finale IRC channel, IRC programs and usage
• LST:
  • Talking about how we can make FinaleIRC mailing list even better!
